New Books

This week is the book fair at school, and Madison came home with a huge list of books that she wanted...I asked her to pick three...we gave her money for one, and she counted her money for another. I tucked her into bed, and she says mommy, I'm too excited to sleep, and I say why? Because tomorrow is ground hogs day? No...cause I get to get new books...How cute is that?

Tv

We have recently become a Dish Network family...Before that we just had basic TV 6, 8, 13 and 10 and that was plenty, until they switched over to DTV. Even with that little 50.00(waste of money box) we only got one channel and sometimes not even that. Not that we are big TV watchers, but my husband does like the news in the evening. So anyway, I broke down and ordered Satellite Tv and my daughter is obsessed with iCarly...She thinks Sam is the bomb. So lately she has decided that she wants her hair curly every morning, and it wasn't until this morning that I finally figured out why...she want to look like Sam. When did she become a teenager that needed to look like everyone else, I mean come on she is only 7...okay almost 8. I have to admit, she does look pretty cute with curly locks.

Color me Crazy

I need lots of bright colors aground this time of year...I love winter, don't get me wrong..hot cocoa, sledding, hibernating in the house and finding projects to do, but it get a little grey outside...no bright flowers in our yard, so I dress my kids in bright colors and surround myself with as many colorful things as possible...How do you keep from getting the Blah's in the winter?

Man I love to shop

A girl at school yesterday asked Madison why she was so fat....just about broke my heart....I think the person that said it, said because they were curious..not trying to be mean. I asked Madison what she said back and she just said..."I'm not"

I know it bothered me more than it bothered her. I told her she was beautiful and that everyones bodies are different...she makes good food choices and drinks LOTS of water..we just need to get her a little more active. Then I bought her some new clothes...#1 because they were 75% off and #2 because it made me feel better..and #3 because I think it will make her smile.

I don't know about you, but my heart always feels better after a little shopping.. I found a lot of good deals, so I posted my finds:

New Shirt for Madison 8.99

Another new shirt ( 4.49) for Madison and leggings(7.49)

cami's (3.75)and boxers(3.74)

A new shirt for Riley (5.99)now don't think I spoil Madison and not Riley...Madison has a birthday coming up and she looks so darn cute in the bright colorful clothes from the Gap and well...the boys section was pretty picked over. I find that I do really well for him at the Osh Kosh outlet anyway.

A new curtain for the dining room originally 35.00...marked down to 8.00!!!! I think I am going to try and turn this into three valances for the kitchen and living room.

More Holiday goodies to pack away for next year...two tablecloths(1.25) and some sprays for the tree(.75)

Three new pairs of Christmas pajamas (2.00 a pair)

And some after school treats for the kids..(.20 each)

At Pier One I snagged a Two for tea set for 3.48...two sets of reindeer dust....68 each....a new ornament for the tree...2.38...and two tins of cocoa, that are also puzzles...2.98...So that concludes my shopping trip for today.

Happy New Years

January 1st...Happy New Year everyone. My morning started with breakfast in bed from my two favorite guys(Madison was still asleep)last time I got breakfast in bed, Steve sent the kids down the hall with some string cheese...my husband, like a fine wine gets better with age!

Breakfast was followed by a few games of Ants in the pants...and this guy was very excited to beat me....and yes folks it finally snowed, and the forcast looks like we are getting three days of SNOW!!! YIPEE

Riley got a little shaving cream in his stocking, so he pretended to be Santa by Yelling HO HO HO. He usually has the sweetest little face.

We have been a little board, with no snow and freezing temperatures, so we decided to make some winter decorations, so while I undecorated the house for Christmas, the kids re-decorated the house for Winter.

A nice snowflake Garland.
We had some blue and gold snowflakes that I had bought on clearance last year for like .55 and Madison got some new glitter for Christmas, so we broke it out and started glittering up the place. She also taught us how to fold paper, so we could make some beautiful snowflakes.
and we painted and glittered some branches for a little more winter sparkle.and stuck them in a mason jar (everything looks good when you add glitter or stick it in a Mason jar) Can you tell we are wishing for some snow?
